Permit values in Peterborough’s ICI sector this calendar year fell to their lowest level since Statistics Canada records began in 2006. This continues the trend that was observed in the January-May period. All three sectors had declines of varying magnitude compared to last year’s June-August period. Commercial permit values fell the least amount, but also hit their lowest level since 2009. Industrial permit values fell by half to their lowest total since 2013. Industrial permit values had the most significant decline, down 59%. The most valuable permit issued in the Peterborough area between June and August was $2.1 million for a secondary school alteration.
