SEPTEMBER 2017 – BUILDING PERMITS UPDATE

There was little change in permit values between Q2 2016 and Q2 2017 in all three of Southwestern Ontario’s ICI sectors. Overall, ICI permit values in the second quarter were almost exactly the same, declining by 1%. The region’s industrial permit values saw the only increase, up by only 3%. Commercial permit values declined by less than half of a percent, only about $600,000 less than 2016’s second quarter. The most noticeable change came in the institutional sector, where permit values declined by 9%. There was little variation between Windsor-Sarnia and London.
