Total ICI permit values in Hamilton declined marginally in the October-January period, down 6% year-over-year. The only sector to see an increase in this period was the institutional sector, which had a 45% increase in permit values overall. Hamilton’s institutional increase was led by a $90 million permit issued in October for a project at McMaster University. Industrial permit values in Hamilton fell by 16% in the October-January period year-over-year, while commercial permits declined by 41%.
