Total ICI permit values in Thunder Bay rose by 62% in the August-November period year-over-year, with significant increases with all three sectors. Thunder Bay’s industrial permit values doubled in the August-November period, although for the calendar year through November industrial permit values have only increased by 8%, totalling $5.4 million. Commercial permit values in Thunder Bay increased by nearly half in the August-November period, led by a $11.3 million permit for a hotel project. Institutional permit values increased by 72%, driven almost entirely by a $14.5 permit for work on Confederation College’s new Technology, Education and Collaboration Hub.
