STATE OF THE INDUSTRY & OUTLOOK CONFERENCE 2018: CHANGING THE WAY WE BUILD
The way we build has been evolving for generations. What impacts are new technologies and innovations having on the construction industry? How are contractors, especially smaller and mid-size contractors, reacting to these advancements and how does it affect their bottom line? These are just a few of the questions that will be addressed at the upcoming Ontario Construction Secretariat’s 18th Annual State of the Industry & Outlook Conference to be held March 8th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
We are excited to have Dr. Carl Haas from the University of Waterloo kick start our contractor panel by showcasing new technologies that can positively impact the industry’s productivity and safety outcomes. Conference attendees will also hear from Peter Hall, Chief Economist at Export Development Canada, as he helps us understand Ontario’s economic prospects in the wake of NAFTA negotiations, minimum wage hikes and rising interest rates. OCS Director of Research, Katherine Jacobs, will provide highlights from OCS’s Annual Survey of Contractors which focus on contractors’ expectations for growth and, this year, a special report on Technology and Innovation in Construction.
