Fourth quarter ICI permit values in Central Ontario increased by 34% year-over-year, led by significant increases in industrial and institutional permit values. Industrial permit values in Q4 increased by nearly half and institutional permit values quadrupled in the fourth quarter. Central Ontario’s Q4 commercial permit values declined by 22% year-over-year.
Commercial permit values also declined overall in 2017 in Central Ontario, down 13%. Industrial and institutional permit values increased by 69% and 73% respectively in 2017. Overall, total ICI permit values in Central Ontario increased by 27% in 2017 compared to 2016, reaching the region’s highest total ICI permit value in seven years.
The Central Region includes: Waterloo Region, Guelph, Hamilton, Brantford, Burlington, Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Barrie, and Peterborough
