Guelph’s ICI permit values increased in all three sectors year-over-year in the October-January period, with total ICI permit values up 86% overall. Industrial permit values had a four-fold increase with several multi-million dollar projects receiving permits in the October-January period. Commercial permit values increased by 40%, and accounted for a clear majority of Guelph’s total ICI permit values. Guelph’s institutional permit values nearly tripled year-over-year, but amounted to less than $5 million overall in the four-month period. This is a significant reduction in activity compared to the summer when institutional activity led the ICI sector in Guelph, with over $60 million in institutional permits issued in the June-September period.
