OCS Photo Contest

Help the OCS build a photo library for research and marketing projects!

The Ontario Construction Secretariat (OCS) held a photo contest to help build a valuable repertoire of ICI construction images in Ontario that will be used in future marketing material, research reports, banners, and social media.

Contest Winners

Additional Information

Prizes
There are 5 prizes of $500 pre-paid visa gift cards which will be given in 5 $100 cards to each winner. Each category will consist of one prize winner. Winners will be announced shortly after the contest closes and arrangements will be made for delivery of the contest prize.

Winner Selection
A panel of judges made up of Ontario Construction Secretariat (OCS) staff will judge photos submitted on the basis of originality, creativity, technical proficiency, appropriateness, and relevance to the category submission.

Eligibility
The contest is open to OCS Stakeholders/Partners and Ontario’s unionized Industrial, Commercial, Institutional (ICI) construction industry including: Employee/Employer Bargaining Agencies, Ontario Provincial and/or Local Area Building and Construction Trades Councils, Union Signatory Contractors or Union Construction Associations, Local Area Unions, and Union/Employer Training Centres.

Safety
Construction is a dynamic industry made up of several sectors and all projects should exhibit a safe workplace. All eligible photos must meet the health and safety requirements in the environment in which the photo is taken in.


Intellectual Property Disclaimer

By entering the Ontario Construction Secretariats (OCS) Photo Contest, you retain the rights to your work while granting the OCS unrestricted, royalty-free, continual right to use, reproduce, communicate, modify, and display the works (in whole or in part) for any purpose (such as marketing material, internet banners, research reports and social media), without any fee or other form of compensation, and without further notification or permission.

It is your responsibility to ensure all individuals and subject(s) participating in the submitted photo are aware of the use, context, and representation of the photo themes. It is your responsibility as the photographer to gather the appropriate non-disclosure (waiver) of all individuals and subjects being portrayed in the submitted photo.
