Total ICI permit values were up by almost half in St. Catharines-Niagara compared to the January-May period last year. Institutional permit values increased by more than 200%, making the institutional sector the largest in terms of value among the ICI sectors. Industrial permit values in St. Catharines-Niagara increased by 63%, although the industrial sector only accounted for 17% of total ICI value. St. Catharines-Niagara’s commercial permit values decline by 12% in January-May compared to the same period last year.
