Hamilton’s total ICI permit values have nearly doubled so far this year, and increased by half in the June-September period year-over-year. Despite a 14% decline in industrial permit values year-over-year in June-September, industrial permit values for the year so far are at a five-year high driven by Hamilton’s Woodward Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant project. Institutional permit values, more than doubled in the June-September period, led by a $35 million permit for a Mohawk College project, and an $18 million permit for a new Hamilton Police Service facility. Hamilton’s commercial permit values increased by about 14% in the June-September period and in 2017 overall.
